Hi everyone! It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The Word the Lord has spoken into my heart comes from Psalms, chapter 20, verse 7. And it says, “Some trust in chariots, some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God.” This Word is speaking of a people who trust in what they have instead of trusting the Lord.

Put your trust in the Lord.

The Lord began speaking to me about the things I put my trust in besides Him. Sometimes I put my trust in things without even realizing it: We go to our refrigerator and we open it, and expect the light to come on and for it to be cold. We go to our car and we expect that when we put the key in the ignition it's gonna start. But recently, I went to a doctor's appointment a few towns over, and when I put my key in the ignition, I found that my battery was dead. Immediately, my youngest said, ‘Mom, let's pray.’ And we prayed, I called my husband, and he and I came up with a plan: I was going to walk across the street, buy a jump pack, hook it up to the battery, and voila we could go about the rest of our day. Only when I connected the jump pack, nothing happened. So then I checked the manual to make sure that I had everything connected the right way and….still nothing. I check the battery to make sure that it had juice in it and it did, but still nothing. And so, at this point I really knew I needed to stop and see what the Lord wanted. To really seek Him - not to have my own plan, not to have my own ideas but what did the Lord want. Almost immediately the Lord reminded me that I have roadside assistance. And so I called, the service man came and hooked up the almost exact same jump pack that I had just bought, my car was started, and ready to go. And I began really thinking how much time I had wasted doing things my own way, how much time was wasted leaning on my own wisdom and my own understanding. This has really been a season of learning to trust the Lord in everything.

"To trust anything else will always end in defeat."

Lord, thank You. Thank You for Your wisdom - and not my own wisdom. Lord, I pray that my children would see that when we put our trust in anything apart from You, it will always fall - that You are the One who leads us in the way that we should go. That the only thing we can put our trust in is You because You’re faithful. Lord, I pray our eyes would be open to see everything we have put our trust in outside of You. That we would lay it down, because real hope and confidence is only found in Your Name. To trust anything else will always end in defeat. Lord, I pray that our children would see that anything aside from You doesn’t matter that we can have everything in the entire world but if we don't have You, it doesn't matter.

"...that we would not put our trust in the things that can be washed away, but that we would put our trust in the One who is eternal."

I look at the age old story of Pharaoh and his army. And he had all the horses and all the chariots, and in a moment, it was all washed away. Yet the Israelites only had the Lord...and they had everything. I pray that we would not put our trust in the things that can be washed away, but that we would put our trust in the One who is eternal. God bless, and I pray that you would have a wonderful week.
