According to town history, Barnegat means an "inlet of breakers." Though the sailor who discovered this land simply named what he saw with his physical eyes, United Faith Church believes God has a purpose and a plan for our community - breakthrough!
It is no coincidence that Barnegat is named for "breakers," and that it is here, in Barnegat, that United Faith Church stands on the solid foundation of the Word of God proclaiming "breakthrough" in prayer: freedom from darkness, joy for mourning, peace for anxiety, hope for depression, and marriages restored through the powerful work of the Lord Jesus on the cross. We pray and believe that minds and hearts are being awakened to the salvation found in the Lord Jesus Christ and His true Gospel.

"Awaken the Dawn" was written as a call to awaken the hearts of those in Barnegat and our surrounding communities to return to the glorious light of our God. The Bible says that we are walking in darkness until we see the light (Isaiah 9:2). Our communities and nation have been shrouded in darkness for generations, but there is hope! The Lord Jesus Christ is the light of the world and He shines the way to the Father (John 8:12).

The Church is not meant to take up dwelling here and exhaust all our time, energy, and effort building security and riches here on Earth, but is meant to live in the knowledge that our destination is in Heaven where our King dwells.
