Water into Wine
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”Church,
They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”John 2:7-10
Looking at this chapter you can picture the scene of what is happening. Jesus, Mary and all the disciples are attending this wedding, a great celebration. Unfortunately, the wine runs out but Mary knows who her Son really is and where He has come from.
It seems strange to think that Mary would bring this problem to Jesus to fix. But we know that Jesus did not perform this miracle so that people would have more drink; He did this first miracle to display the power of God and give glory to the Father.
It is fitting that this miracle took place during this celebration. They began by celebrating the union that was taking place and than continued to celebrate the miracle that was in their midst. It sounds a lot like a Sunday morning at United Faith Church to me.
Jesus Christ is doing the same today. Be joyful and celebrate the union between you and the Father. As we are celebrating, you will see that Jesus will take all of your old and mundane and turn it into Joy! As we celebrate that we have been united with our Father in heaven, Jesus Christ comes and performs a miracle in our hearts. He takes all of the old burdens and turns them into praise to the Father! He takes what you used to hide and turns it into a testimony to the goodness of God! He brings true Joy!
He truly is turning water into wine! Thank you Jesus you transform and make all things new.
Amen,
Kris
