Word of the Week
The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”
Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
…
The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.Acts 8:29-35
Church,
The Word & the Spirit of God always work together to enlighten a heart concerning Jesus Christ. The Word prepares the heart and the Spirit enlightens and transforms.
We can see how the Spirit of God setup the perfect situation for the eunuch. He had been reading a passage about the Messiah to come that prepared his heart for the message that Philip was about to bring.
The Word of God is a powerful force. When met with the Spirit of God it has the power to transform hearts, minds and lives. I am praying that the Word of God may abound in your hearts and would continue to prepare the ground for the Spirit to do a transforming work.
Amen,
Kris
