Strength
Psalm 84:5-7
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion.
Church,
This verse really stood out to me this week. In looking into it I found that the Valley of Baca was also known as the Valley of Weeping. It was known as this because of how barren and desolate it was, there was no water to be found there.
So when reading this verse it makes sense. Blessed is the man who puts their strength in God, whose heart is not stagnant but is on a pilgrimage to find You. As they pass through the dry and dead places, living water will come from them and cause springs to pool up! Meaning the dead places come alive with the Word of God from you!
“They go from strength to strength”, this verse is so powerful. The Christian is meant to be constantly conquering and overcoming. Their life is in constant movement towards God riding on the victories over the enemy. Even in the hardships, we continually move forward knowing another victory is coming.
All of this comes from trusting in the strength of God over our own strength and taking on the mind of God instead of our own fleshly state of mind. Let us put our strength in Christ and move in victory towards our home in heaven!
Amen,
Kris
