He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.Titus 3:5‭-‬7

This verse gives a clear picture of what it looks like to receive salvation. It says we were saved through 2 things. “The washing of rebirth” in which our old self dies. We are no longer subject to the ways of our past but are washed and made clean of our sin. “Renewal of the Holy Spirit” is when our old wants, desires, needs and emotion no longer rules us but our will is aligned with God’s as the Holy Spirit renews our souls.

This is such an amazing salvation that we have been brought into. It is a salvation that offers us life now and grafts us into an amazing inheritance to come. Thank you Lord that you justified me by your grace and it is no longer I who live but you who live in me!
