For on that day the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.Leviticus 16:30

Church,
Today is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the most significant and holy day in Judaism. It is the day that the priest would go in and make atonement via the blood of animals for the people’s sin for that year. Today is the day that God would make a judgment on the year to come for the Jewish nation.

We too had a Day of Atonement that occurred 2000 years ago. It was not paid with animal blood but with the blood of the son of God. God made a judgment on that day, that the sins of the His children would be wiped away and they would be declared righteous in His sight.

Our God paid the price for our sins. Not for one year but for all of eternity. On that day it was declared that we would become holy and blameless, transformed by the power of His blood that was shed on the cross.

Thank you Lord for your atoning sacrifice!
-Kris
