Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done.2 Corinthians 7:10-11

Few people ever dare to take a real look “behind the curtain” of their own hearts. But God, in His love, continually shows us the state of our heart so that we can rid ourselves of sin and come closer to Christ.

When we do see that sin, we can respond in 2 ways. Worldly sorrow keeps us stuck in the sin and produces no fruit, but Godly sorrow causes Godliness to rise up in your heart high above the sin.

Let us take a look at our hearts this day and when God reveals any sin may there be Godly sorrow. The type of sorrow that sees the sin in the past but refuses to allow it to remain in the future. That type of sorrow causes earnestness, eagerness to be free, indignation, alarm, longing and a readiness for Gods justice. That type of sorrow will always deliver us from ungodliness and breed righteousness in our hearts.

Thank you Lord for your love that shows us our sin and gives us the power to be free from it!
