Hi everyone. It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The Word the Lord has given me comes from John, chapter 8, verse 32. And it says, “‘Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
"Truth - real truth - comes from a place of love."This Word began to stir in me when my daughter came home from school and began sharing that one of her classmates told her something she knew was not true. I asked my daughter what she did. She told me she told the truth. I asked my daughter what happened next and she said they went back and forth for a moment, both standing their ground, and then they went and continued playing. I told my daughter that's all you can do. We give the truth in love. Then, that person has a choice to accept it, or not to accept it.
I remember when I have been given truth. Yes, I say ‘given,’ because it's a gift. At a time when no one wants to say the wrong thing out of fear of offending someone, truth is what gives life to the dead things in our lives and breaks all confusion. In this Word, Jesus is explaining to the Pharisees that sin is slavery, and a slave can't free a slave, because the slave has no permanent place. Only the Son can set a slave free. We have been called to be sons of God.
"Knowing the truth is knowing Christ - the Way, the Truth and the Light."In John 1:17 it says, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Truth - real truth - comes from a place of love. The person giving it realizes it may cost them, but they're willing to give it because if they don't, it will cost everyone.
I've witnessed firsthand in my own life what the selfishness of keeping the truth to myself cost. I want my children to understand the power of knowing and speaking the truth. Knowing the truth is knowing Christ - the Way, the Truth and the Light. Jesus is life and He brings life to the things that are dead in us. Every time I was given the truth and accepted it, there was a transformation that took place in my life. Life was given and it's the most important gift I could ever receive.
Lord, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for the truth. Thank You for Your Son. Thank You for pastors and teachers willing to speak the truth. Lord, we know the truth makes crooked ways straight. Please teach us to walk in the truth, to desire the truth because we know that when we know the truth, we are free. Amen. God bless and have a wonderful week. I will speak to you again soon.
