Happy 4th of July! This holiday marks the anniversary of when we as a country claimed our freedom and independence.
As Christians, we should also be celebrating our freedom. Our freedom from the slavery of sin and from the oppression of the world.
We, however, do not claim independence. We claim something greater; we claim DEPENDENCE on Jesus Christ. While the country celebrates their independence, we as a church celebrate our dependence on God! As Jessica said, the ways of God are foolishness to the world. And only God’s people could understand the freedom, joy and peace in living in dependence to God.
Praise God that our freedom is not an excuse to live in evil, but an excuse to display God’s holiness!
