Demonstrate His Power – EP18
2 Chronicles 16:9
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
Hello and welcome to the One Thing Podcast! Today, we’re reading from the book of 2 Chronicles, chapter 16.
Right now, God is looking down. He’s roaming through all the earth. His eyes are searching for a people, for someone who would be a vessel to demonstrate His glory.
"May we be the ones on whom the eyes of the Lord stop..."You know, as we turn on the television, we can look in the news— every day there’s a group of activists or protesters that are rallying for some type of cause. Whether they’re gathering together for a change of government, for the change of a law, whatever it may be, they’re out there looking to demonstrate— to do demonstrations— in order to make a change.
So what do we do as Christians? What are we called to do? The Bible says that we are those who would demonstrate the power of God. What a great call! What a great cause that we have, which is not for something that will fall apart, but for the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
You see, we gather within the church as we worship together, we gather in our homes with our families as we pray, we gather even as we walk through the streets and drive in our cars— we gather with all of Heaven as we pray and we seek His face!
"His eyes are roaming today. Will He find me, will He find you?"That we would say, “God, here we are. Here are our hearts. Here are our lives. Fill us as vessels for Your glory. And as the Lord Jesus fills us with His Spirit and His power, we are then able to move and bring about a demonstration of the power of God... breaking every yoke, opening the prison doors, going into the places of darkness and being those who will turn and bring His light.
His eyes are roaming today. Will He find me, will He find you, as a heart open, as one who He can show Himself strong, as one in whom He can demonstrate His glory?
Church of God, people of God, may we stand today as the open vessel. May we be the ones who the eyes of the Lord will stop and say, “Here is one that I can demonstrate my power and my glory in today.”
May we go forth and may we look to demonstrate that which God has called us to do, in Jesus’ name.
