Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.Genesis 2:19

When I read this I think about the relationship between Adam and God at this point in Genesis. There is no sin separating them and they are as they were meant to be. This to me is a small glimpse into the bond that was between the man and his creator. God at this point is including Adam in creation, He is bringing each animal to Adam so that Adam can name each one. It is a beautiful picture of the two of them spending time together.

God desires the same relationship with us today. Through sin man was separated from God but because of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross we have the opportunity to reestablish that relationship that was broken all those years ago. That relationship is formed now and when we reach heaven we will be walking with Him as Adam did.

Praise God that we have a loving Father in heaven that is concerned with His children…
