Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hello, and welcome back to the One Thing podcast. Today, we share from the book of Hebrews chapter 11, known as the chapter of faith. Verse 6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

"Yet, they believed in God."
If you were to read through this chapter, you would read through many, many stories of men and women who seemed to face impossible, difficult situations. Yet, they believed in God. They knew that He existed and that even though the circumstance seemed impossible, with God all things were possible.

Just one story: the faith of Noah, who was warned about the things that were never seen—rain! He was warned about the judgment to come, so he built the ark and He brought his family in all by faith, even though the world may have looked at him as though he was doing something that was just not ordinary, that was impossible, that just didn't make sense. His faith did not waver and he held to God, and we see the reward that God had in his family and for, really, all the world, even for us today.

"What has God called us to?"
So, will we ask ourselves, “What has God called us to? What has He called us to do in His kingdom? What work? What things that may seem impossible has God called us to, this very hour?” By faith it is possible, and without faith it is impossible to please God.

But if we come to Him and believe that He exists and that through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, He can empower us to do that which He's called us to do, He will reward us as we earnestly and diligently seek him. Without faith it is impossible to please God, but with faith—with faith—we can step out and please God, and do that to which He has called each one of us.

May our faith rise today.

May we look with faith into the loving, empowering arms of the Lord Jesus Christ.
