Always remember the mercy of God
Hi everyone it's Tania and Welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. A Word that's been on my heart this week comes from the book of Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse 12 and it says, “Be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”
The Lord is speaking to the Israelites. He's about to bring them into the land that He promised to bring them into and He's reminding them of the slavery that they once were in. He’s giving them a warning not to forget where they came from.
“We make promises that, “Once I get where I need to be, I won’t forget You.””This Word is still applicable to our lives today and each of us can relate to starting off with good intentions. We make promises that, “Once I get where I need to be, I won’t forget You.” Unfortunately, as we continue to read the word, we see that the people did not heed this warning. They not only brought destruction on themselves but they also brought destruction on their families.
In our house, we speak often of what our lives were and who we were without the Lord. We talk about what the Lord has done and we thank Him for rescuing us from the situation we were in. My children really like to run and my youngest developed bowed legs as a toddler. Whenever she would run, she would trip over her own feet and so for about a year, she wore braces on her legs at night while she slept, and she hated them so much that really, the only time I can get her to wear them was at night. And now, whenever she mentions how bowed her legs were or how difficult it was to run, we thank the Lord that He has made her legs straight and strong and how fast she can run now.
“And all these things we remember the Lord's mercy. How He stepped in and changed our lives in everything…”One of my children struggled in school but now when we look at that report card, we give glory to God because He has given the wisdom and understanding, causing the grades to improve. Another one of my children was so shy and now they talk about going to the park and making new friends because they aren't afraid to say hi. And all these things we remember the Lord's mercy. How He stepped in and changed our lives in everything and my prayer is that in everything, we would never forget where we came from and all that the Lord has done.
“Teach us how to see You in the big and small things.”Thank You Lord. Thank You for Your mercy. How You have rescued us time and time again. Thank You for Your provision. I pray that we would never forget who we are without You and what Your love and mercy have brought us into. Lord, we remember that to forget You is death. Lord, in a time when it's so easy to forget, so many of us can testify of how much You have provided. I pray that we would not forget You. Teach us how to see You in the big and small things. Lord, that we would never take for granted what You have provided. Lord, teach us so that our children would have it written on their hearts that You have bought us and our lives are Yours. That they would never forget because we have not forgotten! Amen! God bless and have a wonderful day! I will speak with you soon.
